You may not be in crisis, but you’re stuck in a version of your marriage that feels like a ceiling you can’t grow past. You know there's more, you just can't seem to get there on your own.

Or, you may actually be in crisis, at the breaking point, throwing around the word divorce and wondering if everything you built, your family, social circle, finances, children’s stability is about to crumble.

Weekly sessions work, but they take time. My intensive takes two days and gets you to that new place you’ve been looking for.

You know the script and each end up repeating the same lines you said last argument. You've tried talking about it outside the office, in the car, at dinner. You've probably tried standard therapy before, sitting in a room once a week and picking up exactly where you left off, every single time.

You've been in the same argument for two years, or two decades.

The big brands had all the money. The small brands had all the soul. And no one was handing the second group a big enough microphone. [Enter me, stage left]

This isn't a shortcut. It's a different format, built for couples who need concentrated time to break a pattern.

An intensive compresses what would take months of weekly work into two full days. No scheduling gaps, picking up where you left off three weeks ago, or sessions that end right when something important starts moving.

What makes it work is the same thing that makes IMAGO work: a framework that explains why you're stuck, not just tactics for fighting better. Concrete measurable tools to get out of the conflict cycle and how to avoid falling back in it.

Most people are modeling their marriage off an outdated blueprint. IMAGO’s research-based evidence shows us what it takes to have a successful modern marriage for the long haul, defined by an in-tact and connected partnership. This intensive will create that specific recipe for your marriage.

Weekly Sessions
Two-Day Intensive

What to expect:

How a two-day intensive is different from weekly therapy

An intensive is efficient because you won’t lose momentum between sessions and we can go deeper in a two day stretch than you can in 60 minutes.

More intense experience, more profound outcome

Your Specific Dilema

This is where we address your specific situation, it could be relational stagnation, intimacy disconnection, boundary violation, trauma, affair recovery, or whatever issue you’re looking to attend to. The work will get direct and specific to you as we start the process of progressive relational change.

IMAGO Dialogue Foundation

We introduce the framework, learn the dialogue, and do your first Imago. This is what everything else is built on. If you've already worked with me, this session moves faster and we go deeper.

Break

Lunch is included in your package at Henry’s restaurant conveniently located next door. You and your partner can take this time to process the morning before we continue or simply relax and exhale.

Relational Contract + Relationship Vision

You leave with something written, specific agreements you both made, a relational contract, and a relationship vision. You’ll leave with an actual plan for what you're building together.

Inside the Two Days

Every intensive starts the same way: with the IMAGO theory and dialogue. I don't skip this regardless of where you are. It's the foundation, and from there the work gets specific to your situation.

Common Focus Areas

01

Affair Recovery: We work the process and help you decide what you're building.

02

Erotic Recovery: Disconnection in long-term relationships is common. We examine it honestly and come up with solutions.

03

Trauma-Informed Work: When past wounds are showing up in your relationship, we work them inside the IMAGO frame.

04

Relationship Evolution: For couples who want the next iteration of their marriage.

I'm a licensed clinical mental health counselor and certified IMAGO relationship therapist. I've spent my career working with couples in Wilmington, NC who are stuck, hurting, want to understand what's actually happening between them, and how to fix it.

I bring two and a half decades of watching the IMAGO framework work in rooms with couples who came in ready to walk out and left with something they could use.

I've been doing this for over 25 years. I know what's possible.

FAQ

I'm a professional with 25 years of experience working exclusively with couples in relational crisis. My expertise is meeting you where you're at in the moment, knowing when to lean in and when to lighten up. Think of me as your sherpa: I know the terrain, and I know how to pace it so you're never thrown in over your head, but you still get where you want to go.

This looks different for every couple, based on the next iteration of your marriage. Think mission statement, renewal of your vows, or a rebranding of your relationship and relationship vision. It's yours and built around where you're going, not where you've been.

This is probably the right fit if:
  • You're ready for a new kind of change
  • You're interested in the blend of psychology and neuroscience to rewire your couplehood
  • Traditional couples counseling has fallen flat, nothing has fundamentally or structurally changed, and you're looking for a model that's different
  • You want an approach that's been established and effectively used since 1989

Two situations where an intensive isn't the right fit:

  • One of you is being dragged here. If attendance is motivated by a threat, emotional manipulation, or abuse, this isn't the right time.
  • If one or both of you is in the beginning or transition process of working with a healthcare professional to establish a diagnosis or medication protocol, a two-day intensive isn't the right fit yet.
